Northern Mush!.............is a photographic journal, as seen through their eyes and hearts alongside "Isobel the Blind Sled Dog" and their energetic canine friends. Photographers Kimberley Friesen & Jenafor Azure captured special moments in the busy lives of Gerald and Jenafor Azure as Bed & Breakfast host and tourism operators, in the remote and isolated community of Churchill, Manitoba...the Polar Bear and Beluga Whale Capital of the world.
This Northern Mush is a celebration of the human and animal bond, which still exist between a sled dog and their musher, a rapidly disappearing form of traditional transportation. Despite formidable challenges in a diverse and ever changing environment, they share shared their images and a few coveted recipes...... as they learning to adapt to change, stay active ,and find a healthy balance physically mentally and spiritually.

Isobel the Sled Dog appearing with Hannah Taylor
Saturday Jan 30 2010 7:30 pm - Travel Alcove, Winnipeg
Join us to honour National Red Scarf Day with Hannah Taylor who appears with Rick Adams of the Ladybug Foundation and Isobel the sled dog from Churchill.
Isobel was made famous when she lost her sight five years ago and continued on with life as a sled dog -- to the surprise of many. Isobel retires this January and will be featured during a segment of NBC’s coverage of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games. Isobel will appear with fellow sled dog Ada, a Hudson Bay Quest finisher and is accompanied by owner Gerald Azure, co-founder of the Hudson Bay Quest.
Don’t miss Isobel’s one-time appearance in Winnipeg before moving to Alberta!
